Hamare din ko khaa jati hai

Aur sham hote hi hume

Khoye hue muake ki malaal aati hai

Waqt dagabaaz, hamesha der karata hai

Choti choti baton mein hume uljhata hai

Khushiyan dastak de chali jati hai

The Pond

The pond was filled with fresh rain 

With all the lotuses standing up again

Lotuses red, pink and white

I watched them with delight

The pond surrounded by a garden so lovely

Full of colour with beautiful flowers

With birds playing their music all around

To the lovely tune, peacocks doing their lovely dance

The trees thick and strong

Yet so gentle, doing nothing wrong

Leaves green and new

With bunches of fruits few

Happiness was everywhere

It was nature in full flair

The pond was filled with fresh rain

And the earth breathed again
