The Sun Moved Fast...

The sun moved fast…….as if to usher in the night before it’s too late. As the veil of darkness spreads across the breadth above me, I knew that soon life will take a different form……one that thrives in the dark……and with it many of the beings will change into a different self……methods change……though motives do not………the subtle gets aggressive, ends are met……unifying spirits....sheer madness…..and in that moment we all become true….defenses are lowered….some sulk….some survive…..others are victorious……satiating the needs….quenching thirst of the strongest emotions…..satisfying the desires…..our very existence justified………

The Journey Is On...

Promises unfulfilled, though desires undiminished
A life of greatness, waiting to be unleashed
A tad late, the journey is on
Has begun with steps stuttering
But determined, unstoppable
No more scared of failure
Weathered, matured, moving ahead
Having fallen on a number of occasions
And yet getting up to move on
The journey is going to be long
Spirited, embracing all challenges
Truly the journey is on
For desires will reach their destinations

Hypocrite Indian Media and the so-called Intellectuals

Its really amazing how hypocrisy in on play in India - the Amarnath Shrine land issue has blown out of control in the last few weeks. there have been deaths, injuries and in general disruptions in the day to day lives of the people of Jammu, India. The sitaution is really getting worse in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, with curfews getting imposed in different places. i find it really amusing to see some of the news channels lambast the hindu dominated parties and organizations for creating disturbances and destroying the social fabric of this country. The trouble is, no one seems to remember the beginning of this issue, most of us have forgotten the violent agitations that took place in the muslim - dominated Kashmir valley that finally forced the J&K govt to go back on its decision for granting land to the Amarnath shrine board.

I also wonder, where were people like Arundhati Roy, Teesta Seetalvad and Barkha Dutt when people in Kashmir valley went on a rampage and threatened the lives of our soldiers posted in the region to fight the foriegn terrorists. what disappoints me that these very names become vocal at any small instance involving some wrong doing by Hindus - big time double standard.

Well, so far the majority section (Hindus) have been taking everything coolly and have shown tremendous maturity but god forbid, the constant insults by the intellectuals and step - motherly treatment by the Indian govt might blow the fuse.......

Income tax woes....

Well, to be very honest, I never had to worry about paying taxes till last year coz I never earned enough to qualify for taxes. things have changed and as i move up the ladder of professional world, I am beginning to understand how important money is. What intrigues me is the attitude of the financial systems of our country. It seems that making good money is a crime in India and taxes are how we pay for them.

I know taxes are important for the development of our country and all the work taken up in the interest of general public needs funding, which comes from the taxes. but, still what is apalling is the amount of money one ends up paying as taxes. I feel that the taxes could surely be reduced without comprising on the well-being of our country. Also, I find that taking care of taxes, returns, and so on are big time stress enhancer - wouldn't it be really great if paying taxes could be made easier?

All the government organizations make use of funds and must be having a balance-sheet for every finnacial year - I wonder, do they pay taxes if they end up in profits (sometimes major section of funds are left unused and slowly forgotten - read misused).......
